Dr Julian Lewis: I agree with every word of the Government’s position, as just read out by the Minister. I therefore do not understand why we just abstained, instead of voting against the proposal. If we felt that this particular organisation would produce only a partial and unbalanced report, and if we want an impartial and balanced report, would it not have made more sense to vote against the proposal?

However, the inquiry produced matters of concern to the United Kingdom in relation to what it did, such as listing those who were killed and wounded.
