Dr Julian Lewis: We fully accept that leaks of issues concerning national security – actual leaks about actual national security – should be subject to criminal sanction. However, is not the Secretary of State for Justice worried by suggestions that criminal sanctions should be applied when there is the potential for a national security issue leak to arise, but no such leak has occurred?
