BUSINESS QUESTION – TRIDENT SUCCESSOR DEBATE – 11 February 2016
Dr Julian Lewis: I know that the Leader of the House will not tell us today the date of the forthcoming debate and vote on the Trident successor submarines, but will he at least tell the House whether the Government have made up their mind to hold that debate soon, or whether they are determined to spin things out until the Labour party conference in October?
[The Leader of the House of Commons (Chris Grayling): As my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister made clear yesterday, he will bring forward the matter for debate at an appropriate moment. In the meantime, perhaps we can have a debate on where the mysterious underwater drones that will render Trident redundant will come from.]
