BUSINESS QUESTION – WAR WIDOWS PENSIONS – 24 October 2019

Dr Julian Lewis: May we have, in the run-up to Armistice Day, a statement from the Government on the unconditional restoration of war widows pensions so that 265 of them who lost their pensions on remarriage will not have to divorce and remarry their spouses in order to get them reinstated?

[The Leader of the House of Commons (Mr Jacob Rees- Mogg): My right hon. Friend raises a troubling point. There will be time for a debate. This is not a formal announcement, but the Treasury has announced, though not to the House, that the Budget will be on 6 November, in which case there would be time to debate it.]
