'EUROSCEPTIC ELECTED'

A leading Eurosceptic has been made Vice-Chairman of an influential backbench committee. Julian Lewis (New Forest East) was elected to the Tory Foreign Affairs Committee after a "straightforward contest between Left and Right", insiders said. He defeated Nicholas Soames, a former Defence Minister, who was backed by Kenneth Clarke.
